Chris Steinbeck
Fly Fishing Guide
Background
Chris Steinbeck is a talented and dedicated fly fishing guide and former college athlete. Chris was a standout baseball player at Regis University, where he honed his athletic skills and developed a love for the great outdoors. His time as a college athlete taught him the importance of hard work, dedication, and perseverance, all of which he now brings to his work as a fly fishing guide.
Chris started fly-fishing when he was 10, and had his first vise when he was 12.
“Once I started tying flies, my passion took off! I was constantly tying up new flies to fish at Deckers. In fact, I can still tell you the exact spot at Deckers where I caught my first fish on a fly I tied”.
Chris spent the majority of his time fishing locally in his ‘home river’, the South Platte in Cheesman Canyon and Deckers. He also made annual trips with his best friend to the San Juan River in NM, and up at the Miracle Mile in Wyoming.
With over a decade of experience as a guide, Chris has honed his skills and knowledge of the sport to the highest level. He is an expert in reading rivers and spotting fish, and is always eager to share his knowledge and passion for the sport with his clients.
Whether you're a seasoned angler or a beginner, Chris will ensure that your day on the water is enjoyable, educational, and unforgettable. His extensive experience and deep understanding of the sport allows him to tailor his trips to meet the needs and skill level of each individual angler.
When he's not guiding, Chris can often be found exploring new rivers and streams . In Spring you are likely to find him chasing tarpon in Florida.
